Rs.1 million reward for missing child's whereabouts [September 11 2014]

The Police Department is offering a reward of one million rupees to any successful information leading to the whereabouts of the four year old missing girl, who was alleged have been abducted by an unknown person in Wellawa two days ago, the Police Headquarters announced today.

Tamara Keshani Bandara Wijekoon was missing since Tuesday following certain religious rituals performed by an exorcist in her house on the invitation of her parents to ward off an evil spirit.

A contingent of police backed by the residents of the area had launched a massive search operation to find the girl. The motive behind the act is yet to be ascertained. Wellawa Police are conducting investigations. 

Meanwhile the exorcist had been taken into custody on suspicion.
