A fire broke out at the armoury of the Army Engineering Regiment camp in Mattegoda this morning was brought under control within two hours, the military said.
An explosion followed by a fire was reported around 7.00am, was engaged by nine fire engines deployed by Colombo Fire Brigade and Fire Units of Dehiwala – Mount Lavinia and Sri Jayawardenapura Municipal Councils.
The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. No person was injured in the incident.
