Indian passenger dies at BIA [October 30 2014]

An Indian passenger who was on a transit visit to Colombo collapsed and died on the corridor of the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning, the police said.

The victim identified as Nayan Mohamed Nafas (51) had been returning from Dammam in Saudi Arabia on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight and was about to board another flight bound for Trichy (Tiruchirappallai).

He had collapsed on the corridor due to a sudden illness and had succumbed to his ailment while he was being transported to the hospital.

The victim's body is lying at the Negombo Hospital Morgue. His relatives were to reach Colombo today and the post mortem is scheduled for tomorrow, the police said.
