Underworld figure injured in shooting [November 13 2014]

A man alleged to be a wanted underworld suspect sustained serious injuries when he was shot by a gang in Nuge Road in Peliyagoda this morning, the police said.

The victim identified as Galle Mihinduge Rangana Prasad alias Yakada Ranga was admitted to Colombo National hospital in a critical condition.

Acting Police Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the shooting had taken place on Nuge Road around 10.30 am and the unidentified gunman had fled in a trishaw after the shooting.
