Former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamed arrived in the country today for the inauguration of two development projects.
Hambantota District Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa welcomed the former premier at Mattala Rajapakasa International Airport this morning.
Dr. Mahathir launched the Residential Development Project in the proposed new city of Hambantota today and the Mixed Development Project in the Katunayake Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) on Wednesday, December 10.
Group Executive Chairman of The Maju Group of Companies of Malaysia Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed and Director of Quest Ventures Dato Patrick Lim will also be present at the Hambantota event.
Minister of Investment Promotion Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena and Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera are expected to take part at Wednesday's project launch at Katunayake.
