Palitha Thewarapperuma arrested [January 21 2015]

UNP Kautara District Parliamentarian Palitha Thewarapperuma was arrested by the Colombo Crime Division this morning for assaulting a UPFA supporter in Agalawatta two days ago, the police said.

Thewarapperuma was arrested when surrendered to the CCD office in Dematagoda. Earlier CCD arrested three other suspects who were involved in the incident.

The MP will be produced before Matugama Magistrate this evening, CCD sources said.
