<P>Basil’s bail appeal tomorrow

<P>The bail application submitted by former Economic Development Minister, Basil Rajapaksa, is scheduled to be taken up for re-consideration at the Colombo High Court tomorrow (June 8) following its first hearing on June 1. 

<P>According to Basil Rajapaksa’s lawyer Attorney Udaya Rohan de Silva the bail application appeals for a revision of the order issued on May 27 by the Kaduwela Magistrate refusing to grant bail. 

<P>The revision application was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena.

<P> The Fundamental Rights case for Basil Rajapaksa and the other three officials accused of misappropriation of Divi Neguma funds will be next heard on June 12 at the Supreme Court, Attorney de Silva said.
