UNFGG, JVP manifestos focus on five areas [July 26 2015]

The United National Party (UNP) s pearheading the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG) and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) released their different manifesto last week, focusing on five areas of importance.

The five major areas in the UNFGG are: economic growth and development, eradicating corruption, ensuring freedom for individual, infrastructure and investment and education. The JVP manifesto states: a people-friendly government, affirming human values, an innovative country, a fair society and freedom of the individual. The JVP has also included reducing the number of Ministers to 25, abolishing the executive presidency, establishing a parliamentary system and allocating at least 6% of the GDP to the education sector as its policy issues.
