96 Indian and nine Lankan fishermen repatriated [April 10 2016]

The Sri Lanka Navy assisted the repatriation of 96 Indian fishermen, released from Sri Lankan custody by providing them with safe passage on board the Ranavijaya and Sri Lanka Coast Guard Vessel CG 43 yesterday.

The apprehended Indian fishermen were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ships 'Rani Durgavathi' and 'Abheek' at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) off Kankesanturai. Nine Sri Lankan fishermen held in Indian custody, were also handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy at the same location.
