Outward Bound training programs Sri Lanka Business Development Centre in collaboration with the Outward Bound Trust of Sri Lanka is conducting Outward Bound (OB). 'Weekend Challenge' training programs for the executives of Hatton National Bank and the second batch of staff of Nations Trust Bank. Both programs which commenced on February will conclude tomorrow. They are being conducted Dambulu Oya Family Park and Habarana Village respectively. OB programs enable the participants to deviate from their monotonous routine of daily life and venture into a world of outdoor and wilderness adventure and excitement. These programs encourage the participants to develop leadership qualities, foster team spirit and build self-confidence. Trained instructors will guide the participants through the program. A management consultant will explain the relevance of the principles of management theory to all the exercises at the end of the program and how it relates to the work environment. OB program which provide management development experiences instill in participants a high sense of team spirit and discipline which enables them to foster better inter-departmental co-operation and work culture and improve efficiency, competitiveness and productivity apart from the friendship and trust which they build within the enterprise. Leadership qualities, decision-making skills, team work and self-confidence are some of the skills the participants learn and develop as part of the course which also involves group activities, discussions and presentations which take place throughout the training. |
