Senaka's designs on catwalks in Paris and Dubai: Shades of Sri Lanka
Senaka's creations which have already graced the catwalks in Oman, Abu Dhabi, Rome, Brussels and Amsterdam, gives a glimpse of our paradise isle Sri Lanka and its diverse multi-ethnic culture through colour, texture and design. He succeeds in bringing to the limelight folkloric designs inspired by old traditional dance costumes, the colours of undersea themes, wild life skin prints, rituals etc. And it's not wrong to say that Senaka's collection is purely Sri Lankan because he uses only local fabrics such as batiks, handlooms, crotche and beeralu lace, hand painted fabrics and traditional embroidery.
At his Dubai presentation, one of Sri Lanka's leading bridal designers, Harris Wijesinghe will also display some exclusive bridal outfits designed by him. |
