Int'l publishing giant accepts Anushka Wirasinha's books

Prentice Hall, one of the world's leading book publishers, has accepted for publication and distribution two books by the Sri Lankan writer, Anushka Wirasinha, who launched 10 books simultaneously last year.

'Visually Learn PC' and 'On Your Marks... Net... Set... Go! Surviving in an e-world' first published in July last year by Computer Literate Generation (Pvt.) Ltd. are scheduled for formal release by Prentice Hall soon.

The acceptance of these two books by a global publishing giant like Prentice Hall represents a very significant international recognition for Ms Wirasinha's credibility as an author on computer-related subjects. It has also brought about a significant boost to Sri Lanka's image within the international literary world.

'Visually Learn PC' is a step-by-step guide to computer knowledge. Supported by full colour illustrations, it provides an easy introduction to Windows ME, sharing files on a network, playing games on the Internet, creating movies, listening to radio stations online, chatting via instant messsaging, video conferencing and much more. 'On Your Marks... Net... Set... Go!' is a comprehensive guide to the world of e-mail, the Internet and e-commerce. The book also provides vital safety measures to prevent handing, virus attacks, auction fraud and other online dangers.

Another of Anushka Wirasinha's books, 'Study Buddy,' which provides a guide to learning and exam success for students, has been approved and licensed by the Educational Publications Advisory Board of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as a school library book to be distributed to school libraries throughout the country.

Wirasinha is a B.Sc. Honours graduate of the University of London and holds a postgraduate degree in Management and Information Technology from Harvard University where she was invited to teach immediately after completing the postgraduate degree.
