Viswanath will referee Sri Lanka's Tests LONDON, April 20 (Reuters) - Gundappa Viswanath, Mike Procter and Clive Lloyd will be the three referees in England's home Test and one-day series against Sri Lanka and India. India's Viswanath will be in charge of the three-test England v Sri Lanka series in May and June, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement on Friday. The umpires will be Srinivas Venkataraghavan, also of India, and Daryl Harper of Australia (Lord's and Edgbaston) and Steve Bucknor of West Indies and South Africa's David Orchard (Old Trafford). Bucknor and Orchard will stay on for the one-day series, which will mark South African Procter's first appearance in England as a member of the new five-man referees' panel. West Indian Lloyd has been appointed referee for the England v India test series. Umpires for the four-Test series in July, August and September will be South Africa's Rudi Koertzen and Russell Tiffin of Zimbabwe (Lord's and Trent Bridge) and Asoka de Silva of Sri Lanka and Orchard (Headingley and The Oval). Lloyd will also be in charge of the one-day series between Australia and Pakistan in June. Two of the three matches will be played indoors in Melbourne, with the third staged outdoors in Brisbane. Tiffin will stand in all three games. |
