Port users satisfied with JCT performance

The recent achievements at the Jaye Container Terminal (JCT) of the Port of Colombo, said to be the largest in South Asia, have been commended by port users.

In a letter addressed to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman, Ceylon Association of Ships' Agents Chairman P. Amarasekera has said that the productivity achieved during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays at JCT was on par with the recent increase of productivity at JCT on normal working days.

Managing Director of Senator Line Agency in Sri Lanka L. S. P. Weerasinghe has expressed his satisfaction on the performance of JCT personnel who achieved a record productivity of 93 vessel moves per hour and a gross crane productivity of 27 moves per hour. He further said that the recent achievements at JCT will entice them to patronise this terminal to serve as their South Asian hub.
