Waterpolo squad goes into training for Asian Games by Leslie Fernando Thirty one member waterpolo squad has been picked by the National Amateur Aquatic Sports Union (NAASU) in preparation for the Asian Games to be held in September-October in Busan, South Korea. The players began their first training on Friday at the Royal College swimming pool. NAASU selection committee headed by Brig. B. Munasinghe approved the waterpolo training pool according to Chaminda Colin Bamunuarachchi, the Waterpolo Controller NAASU. However, the National Selection Committee will have the final say whether the team will go for the Asian Games. The players will undergo training on two days at the Royal College pool and two days at the Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool. On Saturdays they will be involved in physical training at the Sports Ministry gymnasium at Torrington Square. The training pool will be pruned to 15 after watching their performance.
