Isipatana start season with a bang-down Kingswood 23-3 by Ranjan Anandappa Isipatana began their inter school rugger season in style trouncing Kingswood by 23 points (four tries and a penalty) to 3 (penalty) at Longden Place yesterday. Isipatana opened scoring in the second minute off a three quarter move when winger Duminda Priyadharshana touched down for an unconverted try. The winners scored two more tries prior to the breather with their three quaters combining well and winger Dinesh Kumara giving the finishing touches on two occasions. The tries went unconverted as Kishan Wettasinghe's kicks could not find the right direction. Isipatana led 15-3 at the breather and the only consolation for Kingswood was the penalty put over by Vinod Bandara in the first half. Isipatana scored their final try after winger Dinesh Kumara was tackled near the corner flag but still managed to break off and score a try minutes before the final whistle. Kishan Wettasinghe put over the penalty for Isipatana. Aruna Jayasekera refereed. |
