Golden Clef Awards : Musicians This is for you Sri Lanka's prestigious Sunday Observer Golden Clef Music Awards that recognises the creativity and talent of local musicians returns to the centre stage after a hiatus of six years. The Sunday Observer will put into action a revival of the Golden Clef Award 2002 programme which will focus on the present trends in the music industry, taking into account the influences of the younger generation of musicians in the development of music and music writing. A much needed incentive the Golden Clef Awards nationally recognises the diverse talents and creativity of Sri Lankan musicians opening them up to more opportunities to reach greater heights in their careers at home and internationally. By popular requests from musicians in the industry, this long awaited competition now begins to unfold. So singers bands, musicians make sure you are with us weekly to learn more of what's in store for you with regard to the competition and how best you could fit in to be a winner. The categories for the competition this year reads as follows: Y Singer of the Year - Male Non-competitive recognition awards will also be included in this year's Golden Clef Awards programme.
