Happy seventeen years!

An unbroken seventeen years of telecast is a major achievement for the program 'Bonsoir' and for the producers and comperes who handle the production. The weekly series a record in the history of Sri Lankan television is telecast on ITN on Mondays at 8 pm, and the occasion was celebrated by the Alliance Francaise on Monday July 15 at their premises. The successful one- of- a- kind program showcases France and Europe with a typically Sri Lankan flavour and is telecast in both the English and Sinhala languages.

Every last Monday of the month, the program is presented entirely in Sinhala, which opens 'Bonsoir' to a wider and larger viewing public. The 'Bonsoir' team comprises Kumar de Silva, Yasmin Rajapakse, Manjula Dharmakeerthi, Himali Guneratne, Prasanna Gunasekera, Dilini Anne Jayamanne, Sumaya Samarasinghe, Aminta Paiva, Yohan Liyanage and Apsara Kapukotuwa. The program is sponsored weekly by Alcatel, Arena, Multilac Paints, Citron, M.D. Gunasena and Mallika Hemachandra Jewellers.

Bonsoir on Monday August 5 compered by Yasmin Rajapakse features different facets of the epic drama 'Sakuntala' by the renowned Indian poet Kalidasa. Also lined up are French artistes inspired by Kalidasa's 'Sakuntala', Camille Claudel, Rodin, Marie Claude Pietregalla and Apollinaire.
