Thurstan to play limited-over cricket match in Jaffna

Thurstan College first eleven cricket team will play a one-day limited over cricket match against St. John's College, Jaffna on August 12.

The invitation for Thurstan to play in Jaffna came from St. John's Jaffna Principal Mr. S. Thanapalan supported by Old Thurstanite Army officers Major Harendra Parakrama Ranasinghe and Major Dhammika Welegedera.

Thurstan has got the 'greenlight' to play in Jaffna from Human Resources Development, Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Karunasena Kodituwakku. Thurstan's gesture in going to Jaffna should be an eye-opener for others to follow suit.

A tour party of around 26 inclusive of players and officials from Thurstan will go to Jaffna probably on August 9 to play the match on August 12.
