Thuhashini wins Arizona golf title for 3rd successive year A former Sri Lanka amateur women's champion, Thuhashini Selvaratnam, did her country proud by wining the Arizona State Amateur Golf Championship in the USA for the third successive year. She won by 7 shots from her closest rival. Thuhashini who is the Operations Manager of the Arizona Golf Association (AGA) had a superb season in 1999-2000 before leaving for the USA. She won the Sri Lanka Amateur Championship for the fourth occasion, the RCGC title for the sixth time, besides winning the Sri Lanka Amateur Play title too. Thuhashini won the Arizona title, immediately she went to the USA in 2000 and has repeated her success last year and this year as well. She also struck it rich overseas during this period winning the Singapore open with a new course record, the Hong Kong open, China open at the Zahai Golf and Country Club, Thailand open in Bangkok, Philippines Open in Manila, the Indian Open in Bangalore and Emirates Open as well in Dubai. Thuhashini was also the runner-up at the Malaysian Open setting up a new course record, but won the Epson Sowjana Open also in Malaysia. She is a former student of Bishop's College and Colombo International School (CIS), and daughter of a former national champion Suwaneetha and Siva Selvaratnam, a leading businessman in the country.
