Remembering 11th September, 2001 : If I knew by Clifford Landers from Australia This poem was circulated globally on the e-mail networks un-interrupted ever since it was written, and first e-mailed in the hours after the attacks on New York and Washington on September 11, 2001. The poem begins with the following introduction: In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders. Our prayers go out to the families and friends of the deceased. If I knew it would be the last time If I knew it would be the last time If I knew it would be the last time If I knew it would be the last time If I knew it would be the last time For surely there's always tomorrow There will always be another day But just in case I might be wrong| Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, So if you're waiting for tomorrow, That you didn't take extra time So hold your loved ones close today Take time to say "I'm sorry," |
