Top US marines here to train sailors by Ramani Kangaraarachchi A team of 20 specialists from the United States' Marines Corps will arrive in Sri Lanka next week to conduct a three week training course for the Sri Lanka Navy 'Sunday Observer' learns. The training will commence from Sept. 14 in Tangalle and in Uva Kuda Oya. Four officers and twenty sailors have been selected from the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) based in Trincomalee for training. This is the second course for the SBS this year. Meanwhile, Colonel Aruna Jayatilake of the Sri Lanka Army and Nalaka Kaluwewa, Additional Secretay to the Minister of Defence, Tilak Marapana left for Hawaii today (8) to participate in a two week seminar on 'Peace Keeping' |
