Caltex sponsors Deaf Schools VB tourney Deaf Schools volleyball tournament organised by the Deaf School Past Pupils Association and The School for the Deaf, Ratmalana and sponsored by Caltex will be on Sunday, October 6 at the Deaf School grounds at Ratmalana with matches scheduled to start at 9.15 a.m. Shivantha Vivekandan - a former sports star who is a Vice President of the Association and Chairman, Organising Committee said that the aim in organising the tournament is to promote the game amongst the unfortunate deaf community in Sri Lanka. He said that Caltex has come in a big way to tie up with the Deaf School Past Pupil's Association and The School for the Deaf, Ratmalana in sports activities particularly by in cricket, netball and volleyball. This tournament is for both boys and girls and is free of charge. Entry forms are available from Mr. N.K.D. Ariyaratne, Hony. Secretary, Deaf School Past Pupils' Association, The School for the Deaf, Borupana Road, Ratmalana or Mrs. Marie Wijeyaratne, Principal, The School for the Deaf, at the same address (Tel: 636351) during school hours. Entries close on September 20. |
