The Country Music Foundation after a break of a year will stage their popular 'Country Road' series next month. The concert will come alive in all its country glory on Sunday, October 13 at the host hotel Trans Asia. Country music fans get geared to enjoy the many favourite nuggets of country music not heard so often these days. What's more Dirk Maverick who thrilled you with his catchy versions of many a well loved country songs including the arrangement of his theme song 'San Antonio Rose' is looking forward to meeting up with all his Sri Lankan fans. He will be performing with five accomplished Germans playing pedal steel guitar, fiddle, bass, drums and guitar. In fact all the musicians are multi-instrumentalists and can switch around with ease. This time Dirk Maverick will be bringing along an Italian songstress Elena Ley, a versatile and sultry entertainer, popular in Germany. According to Feizal Samath the CMF President, Mariazelle who has long been associated with country music, and Flame Unplugged will be the other performers at Country Road XI. The concert is made possible through new corporate sponsorships from Emirates, Cargills (Ceylon) Limited and UNICEF. |
