Sumal Silva and Anusha Perera top in men's and women's pistol shooting

Police Constable Sumal Silva of STF and WPC Anusha Perera also of STF were the overall champions for men and women respectively at the Police Inter-Division Pistol Shooting Championships 2002 held at the STF Shooting Range at Katukurunda.

Besides winning the overall championship for men, Sumal Silva was also picked as the best shooter among the men and received the Ana Seneviratne Challenge Cup, while among the women, Anusha Perera won the P. L. Munidasa Challenge Cup for women being picked as the best shooter. She also won the overall championship for women.

The awards were distributed by Commandant of Special Task Force DIG Nimal Gunatilleke, retired DIG Zerney Wijesooriya and Mr. Ravi Jayawardena - Chairman of the National Sports Council.

The Director of Special Task Force M. J. M. Rishard was in overall charge of the competition.
