Tamil Nadu vs Sri Lanka Schools aquatic dual confirmed for Oct. 12 and 13

The postponed Tamil Nadu vs Sri Lanka Schools Age Group Swimming Championships will now be held on October 12 and 13 at S. Thomas' College, swimming pool, Mt. Lavinia. The meet will be hosted by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association.

Earlier the dual meet was to be held on July 27 and 28 but was postponed at the request made by the officials from Justice P. S. Kailasan Medical and Educational Teachers Foundation Chennai. Ranjani De Fonseka, the Secretary Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association (SLSASA) said that the officials in Chennai have now confirmed their participation.

The SLSASA has already selected the swimmers for the dual on their performances at the Sri Lanka Schools Swimming and Diving Championships held in July and the National Age Group Swimming Championships of NAASU. The first, second and third placed swimmers at both meets, along with fourth and fifth placed will swim in six age categories under-7, under-9, under-12, under-14, under-16 and under-19 both boys and girls.

The overall champions in both the girls and boys events will be selected and trophies will be awarded. Ranjani de Fonseka said that a meeting for all swimmers selected (first to fifth placed) will be held on September 25 at 2.30 p.m. at St. John's College, Nugegoda and all swimmers along with their parents are requested to attend the meeting.

Asoka Senanayake, the President of the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association will brief the swimmers and the parents.
