Inter-school waterpolo tourney today

Fourteen teams (seven boys and seven girls sides) will play in the 12th All-Island Inter-School knockout waterpolo tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association today (Sunday) at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool. The matches will start at 8.30 a.m.

The draw will take place at 8.00 a.m.

The tournament will be conducted in two age categories under-15 and under-20 for both boys and girls. The boy's teams are S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia (two teams in the under-20 and two teams in the under-15). Royal College (2 teams in the under-20 and 2 teams in the under-15) Nalanda (under-20).

In the girl's tourney, St. Bridget's Convent, Visakha Vidyalaya, Ladies College have entered a team each in both age groups (under-20 and Under-15) while Bishop's College will play only in the under-15 tourney.

The champions in the two respective age groups for both boys and girls will be presented challenge trophies.

Last year's champions were: Boys under-15 (S. Thomas' College and boys under-20 Royal College). Girls under-15 (Ladies College and girls under-20 Visakha Vidyalaya. (L.F.)
