Salu Sala 'Shop within the Shop' in Kandy Salu Sala has launched a new shopping experience where multi-brand products will be marketed under the 'Shop within the Shop concept, to cater to a wider section of the market. Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake who declared open the 'Salu Sala ConneXion' at the Queens Hotel in Kandy recently said. the ailing organisation had to be resuscitated to safeguard the interest of the employees and the image of the institution which had been in existence for over 35 years. At present there are 23 outlets scattered throughout the country. Salu Sala conneXion outlets will market, besides its own products, a variety of items such as shirts, lingeries, baby clothes and footwear manufactured by different companies. The new business partners of Salu Sala are Velona, Triumph International, Sinwa, Metro and Fashion Folk. Minister Karunanayake also said that in future, Salu Sala will handle the entire requirement of military uniforms for the armed services and the police. This will not only safeguard the institution from bankruptcy, but also save foreign exchange to the government, he added. |
