Lion Air back in Jaffna

Lion Air, the pioneer domestic carrier in Sri Lanka, launched scheduled services to Jaffna recently with the new addition to its fleet, British Aerospace Hawker Siddley 748-48 seater, powered by Rolls Royce.

The airline, operating from Ratmalana with its own aircraft servicing and maintenance division, aims to add Amparai, Trincomalee and Weerawila as its destinations.

Lion Air was inaugurated in 1994 and has provided domestic air services to eight destinations, completing over 17,000 flights and has handled over 75,000 passengers.
