SL Army anniversary on Oct. 10 Sri Lanka Army will celebrate its 53rd anniversary on Oct. 10 this time with religious ceremonies. Major Gen. Jayantha Ranaweera, military Secretary told the Sunday Observer. However, the traditional guard of honour will be held at the Army Headquarters on 10th morning.An alms giving to 100 priests followed by an all-night pirith ceremony will take place at Bodhirajaramaya in Panagoda. The anniversary celebrations started with the traditional flag blessing ceremony at Sri Maha Bodhiya in Anuradhapura. (RK) |
