Kandy, Galle and Trinco within TMC's sights Every citizen in the country should work hard to develop the country and not for personal gains. Minister of Economic Reform, Science and Technology Milinda Moragoda told the launch of the Mount Lavinia branch of The Management Club (TMC) that people should get away from the "you scratch my back I scratch your back" attitude and make a greater contribution to society. He said that hard work, planning, team building and management are essential tools for efficient implementation. "All of us dream of what we would like to do. Although implementation is rather difficult, you have done it in your own companies. Therefore, the dream or vision of the country should be identified and achieved with commitment and dedication," he said. The TMC website was launched on this day. TMC, the brainchild of Fayas Saleem, was formed under the auspices of the Chartered Management Institute, UK in February with 100 members to fill the void that professional managers faced; an exclusive facility for them to meet, greet, interact, network and exchange thoughts, views and ideas for mutual benefit. The cream of the business community in the country are members of the club. The Galle Face Hotel houses the club and provides special discounts on food and beverages, air-conditioned meeting rooms and lounge facilities with Cable TV and other facilities. TMC hopes to extend its services to Kandy, Galle and Trincomalee within the next year.It also plans to have reciprocal arrangements with clubs in the region at places such as Singapore, Malaysia, India and Dubai. |
