Local company in alliance with US product developer

Visual Computing Systems (Pvt) Ltd., a member of the Informatics Group of Companies, recently formed a strategic alliance with PTC, claimed to be the world's leading product development company.

PTC is headquartered in USA while the alliance is with PTC India. At the launch of the company's Pro/Engineering CAD/CAM software in Colombo, General Manager, PTC India, Sachin Betigeri said that PTC is the world's largest software company with a total commitment to product development. The company serves more than 33,000 customers worldwide.

Technical Manager (South Asian Operations) PTC, Guru Prasad explained to the media that to create the complex shapes typical of today's products, machinists require a robust and integrated set of computer-aided designs (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solutions. He said PTC's Pro/Engineering manufacturing solutions offered applications to handle every aspect of the machine process, from mould design and advanced numerical control to three-dimensional computer-aided simulation and verification.

Visual Computing General Manager, Priyanka Gunesekera said the company has been appointed as a national business partner for PTC products in Sri Lanka and will further strengthen PTC's sales channel, focusing on enterprise customers and small and medium-sized manufacturers via its sales force.

"We will leverage on our broad platform of products and nation-wide reach to expand PTC's business in the country," Gunesekera claimed.

Visual Computing has been providing solutions to the visual computing market segment for 10 years, and is the business partner for Hewlett Packard, PTC and Alias/Wavefront in Sri Lanka.

A fully-owned strategic business unit of Informatics, it is backed financially and technically by Informatics Holdings.
