The much awaited show stopper the Sthri Music concert to mark International Women's Year will be a major entertainment event on Sunday November 3 from 6.30 pm onwards at the Bishop's College Auditorium. Sthri Music, a fund raiser for an extremely worthy cause - for the Kidney Patients Welfare Society, will see a host of well-known artistes, add the glitz and glamour to this spectacular show, giving pride of place to female singers in the likes of Dalreen, Chandrani, Drucille G, Priya Goonatilleke, Shyamie and Yasmin Fonseka and Mariazelle Goonetilleke. In fact Mariazelle is responsible for putting together this mega concert which The Sunday Observer and Sarasaviya have stepped in to be media sponsors. Sohan, Maxi Rozairo and Rajiv Sebastian will join in to perform duets with the female singers and the music backing will be by the popular Sohan and the X'Periments. Scintillating and colourful dance acts from Upekka Jayasekera and Kevin Nugara and the concert will be threaded together by media personalities Savithri Rodrigo and Clifford Richard. Sthri Music concert proceeds will go towards a transit home close to the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital, Kotte, for the use of lesser privileged patients diagnosed with chronic kidney ailments. The Box Plan is at Bishop's College auditorium office and tickets bought for the earlier date will be valid on Sunday November 3. |
