New LTTE Faces to 'scramble' thro' colombo The delegation of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for the second round of peace talks will be flown in from Kilinochchi to Colombo, to take their flight to Thailand, sources said. Two new faces in the LTTE delegation, headed by the theoretician Dr. Anton Balasingham comprise political head of the LTTE S. P. Thamilchelvan and the LTTE's special forces commander Colonel V. Karuna. This time the LTTE will mainly focus on limiting the high security zone areas and on setting up joint task forces to carry out rehabilitation activities in the North and the East. Meanwhile, Dr. Balasingham held series of meetings with top LTTE cadres in Vanni last week on the theme of the second round of talks to be held in Thailand. S. P. Thamilchelvan and Col. Karuna will arrive here with Dr. Balasingham and his wife Adele in a special Air Force chopper this week, from where they will take wing to Thailand. |
