England spinner Giles out of fourth Test v Australia LONDON, Dec 14 (Reuters) - England left-arm spinner Ashley Giles, who broke a bone in his left wrist in mid-November, will not be available for the fourth Test against Australia starting on December 26 in Melbourne. "The original medical advice was that the injury would take between three to six weeks to heal and this remains the case," said Peter Gregory, the English Cricket Board's chief medical officer, in a statement. "He revisits a specialist on December 24 and, depending on the outcome of this meeting, I hope he will be fit and available for selection for the remainder of the one-day international series in Australia in the New Year." Giles was injured in the nets before the first test. England have lost all three tests in the five-match series and lost the first one-dayer in the triangular series, also including Sri Lanka, against Australia on Friday. The fifth Test starts in Sydney on January 2. 1506 131202 GMT |
