Athwela launches international management magazine A new management magazine for the international market was launched last week. The new magazine is targeted at the small and medium-size enterprises in Sri Lanka and the English-speaking countries in the region. Promoting international business is one of the main objectives of Small Business International Magazine. It will also help the small and medium-size businesses to improve their management and to reach out to foreign markets. "The name of the magazine explains everything: Small refers to the small business owners and operators. They are our main target group. They are the people for whom we have been publishing Athwela Business Journal in Sinhala since 1998. Small-business groups are the most important market segment in any economy - in the developed world or in developing countries. Business refers to the contents of the new journal. It contains attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary for the success of any business, and also to assist entrepreneurs to start a business of their own. International refers to our market. This magazine will also be marketed in the neighbouring countries: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the rest of the SAARC region, as well as the Middle East and the African continent. Athwela (Private) Limited, the publisher of the magazine becomes the first Sri Lankan publishing company to enter the international market with a new product that will also promote international trade, investments and tourism, claims Chief Editor Nihal Dissanayaka. |
