Ceybank funds out-perform market The Ceybank Unit Trust and Ceybank Century Growth Fund continued to beat the market indices and has reported more than 112 per cent growth in performance during the last 12 months. According to the company's half yearly reports for the six months ended September 20, 2002, the Ceybank funds, managed by the Unit Trust Management Company, have doubled their net asset values in the 12 months ending September 30 and have maintained their positions among funds in the unit trust industry. Ceybank funds have also beaten the All Share Index by significant margins. The Ceybank Century Growth Fund, managed by Fund Manager Rachini Rajapaksa, reported: * 124 per cent growth in the past 12 months and out-performed the ASI by 11.3 per cent * 44 per cent growth in the past six months and out-performed the ASI by 5.7 per cent * Was ranked number one in terms of performance and the largest in terms of size among growth funds * Rs. 8.4 million realised capital gains in comparison to a capital loss of Rs. 0.8 million in the previous year Ceybank Unit Trust, managed by Fund Manager Niloo Jayatilake, reported: * 115 per cent growth in the past 12 months and out-performed the ASI by 2.5 per cent * 40 per cent growth in the past six months and out-performed the ASI by 1.4 per cent * Was ranked number one in terms of performance and the largest in terms of size (Rs. 1.1 billion) in the unit trust industry as at September 30, 2002 * Rs. 75 million realised capital gains in comparison to a capital loss of Rs. 37 million in the previous year * 1114??? per cent increase in total earnings to Rs. 354 million from the previous year's Rs. 29 million |
