Senanayake re-elected President SLSASA Asoka Senanayake, Principal St. John's College, Nugegoda was re-elected the President of Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association (SLSASA) at the annual general meeting held at St. John's College, Nugegoda recently. Ms. Ranjani de Fonseka (Bishop's College) and Phillip Amarasinghe (S. Thomas' College Mt. Lavinia) retained their posts as secretary and treasurer respectively. The other office-bearers elected were as follows - Ms. Chinthaka Ruwanpathirana (Mahamaya College, Kandy) vice president, Ms. Lalani Jayathilaka (Royal) assistant secretary, Ms. Gothami Peiris (Kingswood College) assistant treasurer. Committee members - Delita Fernando (EMS), Mallika Williams (SBC), Kamala Kulathilaka (LC), Sunimal Silva (Royal), B. K. Sally (SJC), S. N> Singhawansa (Royal), K. Janaka Lal (P. De SK), Janitha Goonewardena (STCML), M. S. Halaldeen (WIS), Vajira Attanayake (MUE), N. Seneviratne (NGCN), M. D. A. de Silva (SJCN), W. I. Perera (SBBV), G. Amarasinghe (STCP), C. Malalasekera (POW), M. Jayasinghe (SJC), H. G. P. Lakshman (SMV). The Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association decided to hold a learn-to-swim campaign for schools in the interior in February 2003. It was also decided to hold the 30th Sri Lanka Schools Swimming and Diving Championships from June 26 to 29 at the Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool. The 13th Sri Lanka Schools Waterpolo Championships was fixed for September 28 at the Sugathadasa Stadium swimming pool. A former national swimmer K. Janaka Lal of P. de S. Kularatne MV will be the schools representative on the National Amateur Aquatic Sports Union. |
