Bolshoi ballet troupe in town

The Russian Centre in Colombo in association with Gwen Herat present the Bolshoi ballet troupe in Colombo from January 11-13. The performance will be at Bishop's College auditorium today January 12 and at the BMICH tomorrow. The Bolshoi ballet troupe perform in memory of Founder Rudolf Nureyev whose tenth death anniversary falls this month. The troupe comprises Russia's most famous ballet dancers trained from the age of eight and nine.

A three day workshop on the basics of ballet will be held from Tuesday 14 by the Russian troupe. This is the first step towards establishing a ballet foundation in Sri Lanka.
