Norway-Lanka economic cooperation The visiting Norwegian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway Olav Kjovan met Mr. Lal Dharmapriya Gamage, Minister Assisting Foreign Affairs at the ministry office and had a discussion on Norway-Sri Lanka Economic Cooperation.Minister Gamage, while receiving the delegation expressed his appreciation of the role played by the Norwegian Government in the ongoing peace process and in the development efforts in Sri Lanka. The Minister continuing his welcome address invited the attention of the delegation to the possibility of creating small and medium-scale industries with the cooperation of both countries, and the possibility of establishing vocational training institutes for school leavers.Delegates of both parties also exchanged views on the possibility of providing training in Norway for new recruits to the Foreign Service. The Norwegian Ambassador in Sri Lanka John Westborg, Mrs. Swarna Atukorale, Secretary to the Ministry Assisting Foreign Affairs and Senior Officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the discussion. |
