Canadian culinary expert trains Golden Mile chefs Canadian culinary expert, Caspar Beuk from CESO (Canadian Executive Service Organisation) who was here for over one month to train Sri Lankan chefs, left Sri Lanka after offering a comprehensive training program on all aspects of food and beverage at The Golden Mile Restaurant, Mount Lavinia. Chef Caspar trained his students in the preparation of over 50 international dishes which are relevant to the location of The Golden Mile Restaurant Mt. Lavinia. He also trained chefs in the fundamentals of their art, introducing new recipes, new technologies and all aspects of food technology. A consultant chef, Caspar Beuk has over 40 years experience in international cuisine. He has worked for the Hilton Amsterdam, KLM, Canadian Pacific (now Air Canada) and internationally renowned speciality restaurants around the world. There is a restaurant in Moscow named after Caspar. He has also worked as a Senior Consultant at the Malaspina University College, Nanaimo, British Columbia. CESO has over 3,500 consultants in many fields, specialising in hotel management and food and beverage. At a farewell ceremony held at The Golden Mile Restaurant, Mt. Lavinia, Vasantha Jayasuriya, Chairman/Managing Director of the restaurant paid a tribute to Caspar for the comprehensive 10-day training program offered to his chefs. The training has undoubtedly made the chefs and cooks at The Golden Mile world class, Caspar said. Caspar said that his stay at The Golden Mile was most memorable and he took pleasure in training the staff on new techniques of cooking European, Continental, Spanish, Russian and other international dishes. |
