Market Share Seminar to reward staff Pee Bee Marketing held its fifth Annual Market Share Seminar in Colombo recently. The seminar was held to recognise the efforts of the company's marketing staff and to award staff members who had excelled in the marketing field last year. Another objective was to assess the success of the Flora napkin. The special features of the napkin, promoted by the marketing strategists, are hygiene, softness and absorbency. It is marketed in two types, 'Flora Fresh' for women and 'Flora Kool' for men. The Pee Bee Marketing Group had introduced perfumed tissue to the market, but analysis revealed that sales of normal tissue were greater than those for the perfumed variety as the latter had certain components that some individuals were allergic to. The company also promotes perfumes, colognes and after shave. The award for the Best Sales Representative was won by T.V.G. Prasanna Silva while George Paldano and Nalaka Perera emerged first and second runners-up respectively. The criteria for selection for the awards were attendance and achievement in sales in terms of value and quantity. The Best Distributor award went to Nihal Malawarachchi while Lalith Arunashantha bagged the Best Territory Sales Representative award. The objective for 2003, as spelt out by Marketing Manager, Jayasiri Gunawardene, was to upgrade the quality of their paper products, mainly toilet rolls, paper serviettes and facial tissues.
