NAASU to send swimmers and waterpolo team for AAGSDC in Macau by LESLIE FERNANDO The Executive Committee of the National Amateur Aquatic Sports Union (NAASU) which met on Tuesday, decided to send swimmers, divers and a waterpolo team to participate at the Asian Age Group Swimming and Diving Championship (AAGSDC) organised by Asian Amateur Swimming Federation and hosted by Macau Swimming Association to be held in the last week in August this year in Macau. NAASU Age Group Swimming and Diving Championships will take place from June 5 to 7 at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool will be the final trial to pick swimmers and divers. NAASU has already circulated the qualifying timing for swimmers in the five age categories and point system for divers in both the spring board and platform. The swimmers and divers will have to reach the set timings and the points to gain selection. Boys under-18 waterpolo team will be selected to play in the Asian Age Group Swimming and Diving Championships (waterpolo is also included in the championship) for the first time. The waterpolo side will be selected from the Junior National Waterpolo Championships to be staged next month. At first 18 players will be picked and this lot be pruned down to 12 after two more trials. |
