Special HNB Community Projects during Vesak HNB, Sri Lanka's largest private commercial bank will renovate and refurbish the neuro ward of the Colombo General Hospital with necessary facilities to provide a better service to patients, on the initiative of the Managing Director, HNB, Mr. Rienzie T. Wijetilleke and the assistance of Dr. Udaya Ranawaka and Dr. Jagath Jayasekera, Head of the Neuro Ward. This project has been organized to commemorate the Vesak Festival by utilizing the funds usually allocated for the Vesak greeting advertisements in the newspapers. This is not the first time such a service has been rendered by HNB. Among the many services in the past are the donation of a drinking well to the residents of Muthukandiya, Moneragala, the construction of a road in the remote village of Kaluaggala in the Dambulla district, the donation of a complete house to a poor widowed mother of five children from the village of Siyabalanduwa in the Moneragala district, the donation of a library to a school in the Kalutara district, and more. Hatton National Bank has almost 139 Customer Centres islandwide which have organized religious activities during the Vesak festival, including Dansal, Vesak pandals, donation of books to schoolchildren and special decorations & Bhakthi Gee recitals at Customer Centres to celebrate the Vesak festival. |
