SLARDAR 1000 Rally June 27 to 29 Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) will hold the annual rally 2003 for the seventh time from June 27 to 29. The Rally will start in Colombo on June 27 evening and after a challenging 1,000 kilometres, the cars will return to the starting point which is also the finish line on June 29 evening. This Rally is considered as a standard for rallying in the country and the competitors will pass through many rural and urban towns and villages on its 1,000 kilometre route. The competitors will also pass through some of the beautiful and scenic locations of the country, covering varying driving conditions which will be a real test for the driving skills and ability of the drivers. The Rally is limited to vehicles 2500 cc (petrol), 4,500 cc (diesel), and 750 cc (motor cycles), thus providing an opportunity for these novices and rallying and equal opportunity to show their capabilities. The route has been planned to suit the powered vehicles, and will no doubt be of public interest. According to information available, some well prepared rally vehicles are scheduled to participate and there should be some thrilling moments during the event. Entry forms will be available from June 2 to 13 at the SLARDAR office at 128, Park 'N Shop Building, High Level Road, Nugegoda. Entries will close on June 16 at 5 pm. |
