PA, JVP undecided on alliance banner

The PA and the JVP scheduled to finalise their joint alliance are looking for a common name and a symbol that will be acceptable to both parties.

According to JVP sources, several suggestions have been put forward by both parties, but no name or symbol has been agreed upon, yet.

JVP sources said the joint alliance had identified the country's defence, security and economic development as priority tasks, as its agenda. A four-day dialogue has been scheduled for next week to finalise the MoU for a great alliance.

JVP Propaganda Secretary Wimal Weerawansa said that the aim of the alliance will be able to solve the country's major problem but and not for petty political gain.

Parliamentarian Anura Dissanayake said that it was too early to speak on a power sharing issue between two parties.
