Further reduction in Shell Gas prices by Pelham Juriansz The price of a cylinder of Shell Gas will be reduced by a further Rs 25 on June 15, the company told a media conference last week. The price of Shell gas was further reduced because the price of crude oil has come down in the international market. The price could be reduced to suit the purse of the consumer, if not for the Value Added Tax and the warehouse charges that have to be paid by Shell Gas, and which have to be added to the unit price of a cylinder, the company said. "This causes the price to be what it is. Also, a considerable amount of money is spent by us on the maintenance of cylinders as we are very careful about the safety standards of the cylinders that we give our customers," Shell Gas Lanka Chairman, Roberto Moran told the media. "Prices could have been lower if not for the war in Iraq and the harsh winter experienced in Europe," he said. |
