Deer Park to be managed by Singapore resort operator by Pelham Juriansz The Deer Park Hotel, part of the Jinasena Group of Companies, has come under the management of premier Asian resort and spa operator, Angsana Resorts and Spa. Angsana, part of the prestigious Banyan Tree Resorts Group, based in Singapore, will manage the hotel from July 1. The Deer Park Hotel, which is located in the cultural triangle, bordering the Giritale reservoir, has become a popular destination in Sri Lanka. Ravi Gooneratne, Director and General Manager Deer Park said the hotel is famous for its herbal spa, craft village, elephant safaris, and hermitage expedition. It became more popular after winning the Pacific Asia Travel Association Gold Award, attracting the attention of Banyan Tree Holdings, which expressed an interest in having the Deer Park join the Angsana chain. Lalin Jinasena, Head of Marketing of Deer Park, said that the Angsana Group deciding to establish itself in Sri Lanka is a positive sign and a firm expression of confidence in the future of tourism in the country. "Partnering with this group is perfectly timely with our initiative to reposition the Deep Park to a high-end market segment," he said. |
