Inspiration on a high

A host of leading singers participated in 'Caritas' presented by the College of World Education as a fund raiser for the St. Vincent's Home for Girls, Ratnapura.

The concert of Inspirational and Gospel Music though interesting in content could have been pruned down for a better impact. However the presenters and those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes must be praised for a successful maiden effort.

Corinne, Aubrey, Dalreen, Sohan, Yasmin, Ishan Ricky and family, Priyanthi, Serala and Azlam, Mariazelle, Malik and Dulip, Annesley and the band Heat proved that they were quite at home singing gospel songs as well. The School Choir under the direction of Priyanthi Seneviratne and the St. Vincent's Dance Troupe performed their items with enthusiasm despite the fact that there was quite a wait for their performances.

Unfortunately, now and then the sound didn't do justice to the vocalists but to use a cliche "they boxed on" keeping the inspirational mood of the evening to a successful high.
