Royal and Visakha tipped to win again

Royal College and Visakha Vidyalaya who were boys and girls overall champions at the Age Group Diving Championships on June 7, will be strong contenders to lift the boys and girls titles at the 30th Sri Lanka Schools Diving Championships conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Association on June 21 and 22 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Sugathadasa Stadium diving pool.

Divers from Royal S. Thomas' College, Asian International School, St. Joseph's College and D. S. Senanayake College will vie for championship honours among the boys while divers from Visakha Vidyalaya, Methodist College, Bishop's College and Anula Vidyalaya will compete in the women's diving.

The events to worked off: one metre spring board diving on June 21 from 8.00 a.m. three-metres spring board diving on June 22 at 8.00 am. and platform diving from 1 p.m. Platform diving will be for competitors under-13 to under-19 both boys and girls. The points to be awarded: First place (7 points), second place (5 points) and third place (3 points).

The list of dives of individual divers should be handed over to the Secretary, SLSASA at Bishop's College on or before June 20 before 12 noon.

The overall boys and girls champions will be presented the Milo Challenge Trophies. (L.F)
